Adult/Mindfulness Colouring Books

Adult colouring books have become more popular lately and have been seen everywhere. Colouring books are becoming a trend as they give a quick fix to clearing your mind and because people like to see what they have made. It is also seen to be another form of self-help therapy which is cheaper than actual therapy. Some people prefer colouring books to self-help books because although they are reading, they are still thinking of other things on their mind or they may believe it self-help books don't work. 

Colouring allows someone to put their minds at rest as it gives you a balance between not thinking at all and thinking too much - it only makes you focus on what you're colouring in. The reason why people find colouring so stress-free and relaxing is because you're only concentrating on what you're colouring in and it makes you proud when you see the final outcome of your colouring. This is why, for people that have mental health problems, it helps them divert their focus on something else rather than themselves and makes them forget why they are being so negative and self-destructive. Colouring gives you the freedom to pick and choose which colours go where are really you cannot do it wrong so that is why people find it so therapeutic - because it isn't stressful. It allows people to focus on the present moment - on the colouring.
