The app name is 'Track Point' as it is suitable for the type of app it is and it does not use any gimmicky language and uses lexis and is straightforward and the user will automatically recognise what type of app it is.
Since the app name is clear enough, the logo design should also be consistent and also be reasoned and meaningful to the app name and what sort of app it is. The logo was created to be a direct representation of the app name. The image of the point was inspired by the location pin points seen on websites such as Google Maps or whenever you locate a store, it uses the same point. The pin point represents the location of the item. The first design (left) looked plain and it looked more like a guitar pick so the idea to add the parcel inside of the pin point made a significant difference as it makes up the logo as it is clearly seen that it is about tracking a parcel. The idea to have 'Track Point' underneath the logo is so it seems like the logo is at it's destination (Track Point).
The logo is a simple location pin point which indicates the location of the destination of the parcel and the tracking it from other locations. The box inside the location pin represents the parcels which you are able to track with the app.
