Studio Brief 02 - Design for Screen: Crit with Matthew from Only

Matthew and Greg form Only came to visit and see our Design for Screen Ideas and was part of our crit.

Matthew from Only commented on the parcel tracking app and said that the yellow shade chosen for the app looks speedy which relates to delivery and the convenience/ease of use of the app. Matthew and another person from the crit group said that they liked the layout as it is clean and clear and is a the whole concept is a good idea. Matthew said that he has a lot of deliveries that arrive at the Only studio so it would be a good idea to be able to track all couriers on the same platform. Someone also suggested that if you have multiple parcels from the same courier, they should be sent as a bundle at the same time to be more eco-friendly. This would be a good idea however, this may make the process for the courier company more stressful as some parcels may be next day and other may be normal delivery but all of them will have to be next day if they were in a bundle and will have to be rushed.

The original idea was to have a 'receive' and 'sent' parcel option where you get to track parcels that are sent to you and parcels that you sent/return to others. However, the problem is that when you send something to someone, most of the time all you get is a receipt (some have tracking and some don't) in which the app wouldn't be able to access information unless it's synced from your emails therefore it will make the app more complicated than it is convenient.

When asking the group whether there still should be a tracking option for items you sent or not, they said no because when they send parcels, they don't track it, they just leave it, when it's sent, it's sent. Someone else said that sometimes when you send parcels/mail, they don't have tracking so there's no point having the sent option. Another person said they would only track an item that they've sent if they've made a return yet still had no email from the company for a refund so they wouldn't really find it useful unless they needed it.

Having noted the feedback from the crit, the app will only allow you to track parcel deliveries since most people agreed that they wouldn't use the sent parcel option.
