Modern Magazine 2015

Jeremy Leslie "The New Normal"
2000 onwards was when the digital era began and the new normal of post digital.

David Lane/The Gourmand "A manifesto for a magazine"
He said that food is the universal language of the world.
Collaborated with Monotype Type Foundry where they produced a type exclusively for The Gourmand called 'Gourmand Grotesque 777 & 888'.

Andrew Tuck "How to reflect a print brand in audio"
Monocle podcast became popular as they uploaded one each month, then weekly, and now daily.
He didn't want his podcast advertisements to contradict or dilute his brand/reputation.
Grashia Gabelmann/Flaneur "Inside a unique editorial process"
A different magazine in each city. The magazine is launched on the street that each of the articles are based upon. They do an 'Unprintable' section on their website which consists of videos and audio.
Sophie Lovell/Uncube "Adapting the print experience online"
Purely digital magazine about architecture. The magazine uses skeuomorphism which some people may disagree with because it should use the elements of digital instead of imitating a real life physical magazine.
Louis-Jaques Darveau/The Alpine Review "The magazine as platform"
James Fairbank/Rapha "Transferring Rapha's brand content from digital to print"
Used to fund a magazine called 'Rouleur' but does no longer as their adverts contradicted Rapha's beliefs. They now have their own magazine called 'Mondial' which is funded by themselves, Rapha.
Bertie & Char/The Mushpit "From zine to glossy to..."

Matt Phane/Shortlist "Creativity in free magazines"
Charlotte Heal/Kinfolk "Behind the scenes of a redesign"
Scott Dadich/Wired Us "The past, present and future if Wired"

Kati Krause/Writer & editor "What websites must learn from magazines"
Ibrahim Nehme/The Outpost "Can a magazine change the world?"
"Tear down this wall" - A sticker in which you put on someones desk or table if they say you cannot do something.
