OUGD503 - Collaborative Practice: The Grown Up Chocolate Company: Idea Development

We had another meeting where we all attended. We further discussed ideas and tried to narrow down what our solid design idea would be and why it is the best and suitable for what the brief is asking of us. We discussed layouts - where the logo would be, what messages would be inside of the tray and what they require from their brand assets to be on the packaging and where to place them.

We decided to keep to the idea of the cocoa beans as the other ideas such as creating a pattern using the different flavours and going with a child theme would be too obvious for the brief. We want the packaging to look sophisticated, playful, fun and for young professionals. We thought that using a cocoa bean for the pattern design would be more mysterious as it unexpected and we can play around with the design to make it look playful. Also, we thought that not many kids would know what a cocoa bean looks like anyway since when they see chocolate, it's just chocolate.

As for the colours, we decided that we didn't want add any more of their brown or pink colour to the packaging design aside from their logo as the brown may look too dull and the pink may look to feminine in which we don't want - we want it to be gender neutral.

I was tasked with created the layouts for the packaging whilst Hannah was creating layouts for the webpage and Siobhan was going to create the pattern design.
