In the bookbinding workshop, we learn how to make a concertina (grey), saddle stitch (browny/yellow) and stab stitch (blue).
The concertina book opens up horizontally so that the pages unfold outwards, making a long in longer in length.
The saddle stitch is the most basic type of stitch and is made by stitching thread through the centre page of the folded book so that you can turn the page one at a time.
The stab stitch is my favourite out of the three as it looks more sophisticated and interesting. This is made by using the thread inside of the book then threading it back out again repeatedly so that the thread is viable on the outside of the book.
The most difficult one that I thought was the concertina book because I used too much glue in and the pages started to stick together and rip which was frustrating. Also, it was messy compared to the other two.
